Cameroon's primary corporate registry is the Registre du Commerce et du Crédit Mobilier (RCCM), operated under the OHADA Uniform Act that harmonises commercial law across 17 mostly francophone African states. Registrations are filed through regional Centres de Formalités de Création d'Entreprises (CFCE) and, increasingly, the MyBusiness.cm online portal; every commercial entity carries an RCCM number tied to the regional court that holds its file. Company formation clusters around Douala — the port and economic capital — and the political capital Yaoundé, with cocoa, coffee, timber, oil and a fast-growing services sector driving new entries.
Aggregators under-cover this market for structural reasons. Cameroon is bilingual, but the bulk of filings and company websites are French-language, which English-first databases like Apollo and ZoomInfo index poorly. A very large share of activity sits in micro-enterprises and the informal economy that never reach a tidy global profile, and RCCM data is fragmented across regional registries rather than a single national feed. Newly registered firms and Douala-based exporters therefore appear in Cameroonian sources long before any bought list catches up.
