Company data in Algeria: registers & coverage

Algeria's legal system of record is the Centre National du Registre du Commerce (CNRC), which centralises the commercial register (registre du commerce) filed through court registries and exposes it via the Sidjilcom portal under the Ministry of Commerce. Every trader is issued a registre du commerce (RC) number paired with a NIF tax identifier; incorporated companies number in the low hundreds of thousands, while sole proprietorships make up the bulk of the roughly two-million-plus entries. Activity concentrates around Algiers, Oran and the hydrocarbon belt, where Sonatrach anchors a wider economy of construction, import-export trade, agriculture and a young technology scene.

Global aggregators such as Apollo and ZoomInfo under-represent this market for structural reasons. Records and registrations are kept in Arabic and French rather than English, so name-matching and scraping miss many firms. A large share of Algerian commerce runs through micro-enterprises and informal traders with little or no web footprint, and newly registered companies rarely surface in purchased lists for months. The register is therefore far more complete and current than any stored database — which is exactly where AtlasForgeX reads first.
