Company data in Slovenia: registers & coverage

Slovenia centralises its corporate data in the Poslovni register Slovenije (PRS), the national business register administered by AJPES, the Agency for Public Legal Records and Related Services. Its ePRS portal lets anyone look up a company by name, by its registration number (matična številka) or by its tax number, and AJPES even republishes a basic extract of the register as open data twice a month. Court-registered companies — the d.o.o. and d.d. forms that dominate trade — are joined in the same register by the very large number of sole proprietors (samostojni podjetnik, or s.p.) that make up much of Slovenian enterprise.

The economy is small but industrial: automotive components, pharmaceuticals, electrical equipment and tourism cluster around Ljubljana, Maribor and Celje, with exporters punching well above the country's two-million population. For aggregators that profile is awkward. Listings, filings and websites are overwhelmingly in Slovene, micro-firms and s.p. traders rarely maintain an English presence, and many register entries never surface in the English-skewed crawls behind Apollo or ZoomInfo — so the visible sample stays thin.
