Senegal counts on the order of 400,000 economic units, but roughly 97% operate informally and almost all business records are kept in French — so global aggregators see only a thin Dakar slice. AtlasForgeX tracks the registers and public sources below, with live coverage and buying signals updated automatically.
These are real sources AtlasForgeX has discovered and verified as live for this market — the registers and public datasets it reads to surface companies the stored databases miss.

The formal source of truth is the Registre du Commerce et du Crédit Mobilier (RCCM), the commercial register every trader and company must join under the OHADA Uniform Act on General Commercial Law. Entries are kept by the commercial-court registries and can be searched through the regional OHADA portal at rccm.ohada.org. A 2016 national census counted roughly 408,000 economic units, and more recent estimates put the formal SME population near 300,000 — but around 97% of all units, and a similar share of the working population, sit in the informal economy.
Only about 6% of firms employ five people or more, and activity clusters heavily in Dakar across trade, services, agriculture and fisheries. Databases like Apollo and ZoomInfo are built from English-language web scraping and contributory networks, so they reach the few large French-speaking corporates and donor-linked organisations while missing the overwhelmingly micro, informal, French-language base. A newly formalised SARL in Dakar appears in the RCCM well before it surfaces in any US-built warehouse — the gap AtlasForgeX is designed to close.
