Company data in Qatar: registers & coverage

The core record is the Commercial Registration (CR) issued by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry through its Single Window system (sw.gov.qa), which assigns each entity a CR number and classifies it by ISMIC activity code. Companies licensed inside the Qatar Financial Centre register instead with the QFC, and those in the free zones with the Qatar Free Zones Authority, while the Qatar Chamber covers much of the trading and contracting base. Records are frequently maintained in Arabic and the CR registry is not published as open, scrapable data.

That structure is why aggregators such as Apollo and ZoomInfo cover Qatar thinly. It is a small, fast-moving and heavily expatriate market whose economy leans on LNG, construction, logistics and the services tied to post-2022 diversification — much of it local trading firms with little English-language web presence. New entities also appear faster than bought lists refresh, and because QFC and free-zone companies sit in separate registers, aggregators rarely reconcile the full picture.
