What it is

AtlasForgeXBot collects publicly available business information (company name, address, industry, public contact details) from official business registers and public company websites. The data is used in AtlasForgeX, a desktop tool that sales teams use to build prospect lists. We do not collect personal data beyond the public business contact details a company publishes about itself, and we do not attempt to access anything behind a login, a paywall or an access control.

How to identify it

How it behaves

• It reads and obeys robots.txt before every request. A Disallow that applies to us means we do not fetch that path, and we do not look for another way in.
• It honours Crawl-delay. Without one it waits at least two seconds between requests to the same host, and it never sends two requests to one host at the same time.
• It backs off on 429 and 503, and respects Retry-After.
• It sends If-None-Match and If-Modified-Since so unchanged pages cost you a 304 instead of a full response.
• It does not attempt to bypass CAPTCHAs, bot challenges or any other access control.

How to block it

Add this to your robots.txt and we stop, usually within a day:

Disallow: /

You can also block the User-Agent at your edge or firewall, and we will not route around it. If you would rather we fetched something specific, less often, or through an API you already publish, write to bot@atlasforgex.com and we will set that up. Requests to remove data about a specific company go to the same address.

Why we identify ourselves

An anonymous client is indistinguishable from an abusive one, so it gets treated as one. We would rather be legible: you can see exactly what we are, decide whether to allow it, and change your mind at any time.
